AA Leaves for South Dakota!

Well, it's that time of the year. AA makes the annual migratory trip to South Dakota for the LifeLight Music Festival. This year we play on the Souled Out (2nd largest) Stage at 6:15pm right before National Acts "Sanctus Real" and "Thousand Foot Krutch". LifeLight Fest draws a crowd of over 200,000 people each year over 4 days. 1522 miles, lots of (expensive) gas, and many good friends will bring us home tired but with many stories to tell. See you Monday!

AA says goodbye to another founding father...

With mixed emotions, I'm announcing that Matt Landrum is no longer a part of American Accent. Most of you have noticed the change in the promo pic and other sections on the website. Matt has been with American Accent since its creation in 2003. Early this year, he informed us of his intention to pursue his personal endeavors more seriously this year, meaning that he would have to part ways with the band. Matt continued to play guitar for us on tour this summer until his last show, yesterday evening. As I've said before, a member of American Accent can never be replaced, Matt will always be a part of the AA Family. We wish Matt blessings and happiness in all his days to come; he will be missed. The newest member of our family is Daren Wischmeier and will be taking the role of rhythm guitar player. Daren is a talented young musician who has performed in other bands previously. Daren's first show with AA will be at Lifelight Fest in South Dakota on Labor Day Weekend. For those of you wanting to see the original AA lineup, I hear rumors of a reunion show in late Oct. Stay tuned for more!

Lombard, IL Show Cancelled

Hey everybody...sorry to say that the show at Christ the King Church on Sunday, Aug. 14th has been cancelled due to some technical issues. On a side note, thank you to everyone who came out to the Duncan Sheik show and made it such a success. I want to especially say thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged me while I battled singing with laryngitis this weekend. You guys are the best fans and friends ever! ~Chris~

Epic Records and TV Appearances

Hey everybody! Great news for the entire AA Family! Earlier this month, Epic Records flew our producer to New York City to listen to "Born to Lead." They loved the whole album and are currently interested in the band. The V.P. of A&R is flying out to see AA play in June or July to see how he likes the live show. We don't know yet for sure which show this will be, but we'll let everyone know so you can all help make this a huge success for AA--we couldn't do it without you. ~~ Also, to clear up any confusion regarding American Accent's appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien or Live with Regis and Kelly, those appearances will not be happening. American Accent will, however, be on Take Five, Grand Rapids (WZZM 13) on Friday June 10th, more details to come.

Born to Lead Tour Kicks Off!

Thursday, May 5th is the first night of the Born to Lead Summer 2005 Tour. American Accent performs on a WCSG Sponsored Show with pianist Ginny Owens. Be sure to check out AA on The Mitch Albom Radio Show on Friday, May 6th. The guys will perform live and chat with Albom, the author of "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "the Five People You'd Meet in Heaven" between 3-6pm Eastern Time. Go to Mitch Albom's website to listen live!

AA Benefit Shows

American Accent played two benefit shows within the last few weeks. One was for two twin little boys with a rare blood disease at Creative Technologies Academy in Cedar Springs. We were able to help raise money for some medical treatment for the boys and met some great people at the show! The second show was a benefit for victims of the Tsunami tragedy. This show, at The Journey Church in Orion, MI, was also a success and helped us make some great friends on the East side of Michigan!

AA Family Grows

As I'm sure some of you fans already know, it's time to make it official: Pat, AA's beloved bass player has decided to part ways with the band and pursue his true calling in life. You can bet that he'll be missed by all. I say the AA Family Grows because Pat will always be considered a part of our family, and now we welcome a new member. Singer/songwriter Zach Malin is the newest addition to AA and is certainly a strong choice to be a part of the journey. Be sure to send whatever messages you wish to both guys!
